Meredith Corporation Launches DRTV Product Buyers

Provides Mailers with New Source of DRTV Buyers Previously Unavailable


Princeton, NJ April 12, 2010 — From growing families to new movers to active empty nesters, Meredith Corporation provides unrivaled access to the most important niches in consumer direct marketing. Now, by partnering with one of the leading DRTV companies, the company is able to identify consumers who have purchased products sold through DRTV.

“We are excited to bring this Meredith segment to market,” said Britt Bean-Perry, Senior Vice President Data Management at ALC. “The promotional market has been booming with the downtick in the economy and mailers in this space have been eager to reach additional sources of names.”

Meredith is able to access monthly transactional data which is then matched up against the Meredith database to identify current and former Meredith subscribers with a DRTV purchase. “It’s important to note that this data is coming direct from our DRTV partner, not from a data aggregator,” said Cheryl Dahlquist, Director of Database Marketing Services at Meredith Corporation. “And we know recency is key to mailers in this market. We elected to update the data monthly to afford mailers the opportunity to target DRTV product buyers each month and just as they’ve made a purchase.”

Approximately 100,000 names will be available each month with recency driven by the 100 percent paid DRTV continuity or one shot purchase. The DRTV data will be incorporated into model builds where appropriate and other Meredith selects and enhancements can be applied to the DRTV data as well.
